Sarah Wenger, PT, DPT, OCS has been a physical therapist since 1997 and faculty at Drexel University since 2007. She received her B.A. in Biology with a minor in Spanish from Emory University, her M.S. in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University. She received her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification in 2009. She has published and presented on a range of topics related to her clinical and academic areas of expertise in chronic pain, underserved populations, dance medicine, and clinical reasoning. She provides pro bono physical therapy services in a community based clinic, coordinates healthcare services for the undergraduate dance department, and mentors students in these clinical settings. She coordinates and mentors students for the physical therapy department’s annual service trip to Guatemala. Along with an interdisciplinary team, Sarah developed a chronic pain education program called Power Over Pain. She is currently conducting qualitative research to learn more about how the program is helping patients. She has developed a decision making model for clinicians to help patients with persistent pain that has been presented a several conferences. Sarah and her team developed handouts for patients about the topics taught in Power Over Pain.
